I travelled to Pune from Hyderabad for 2 days and here's my first time experience.
So the purpose of the visit was work related. But I thought in the evenings I can go out explore the city, try some local food etc
Let me tell you the good parts first. I absolutely loved the underground metro experience. We don't have that in hyderabad.
The people here were so cordial and explained and spoke to me in hindi/english when I said I don't understand marathi. Unlike the viral "marathi bol followed by a beatdown" videos
The women here have such an aesthetic look/style to them. I felt very under dressed while roaming around in the city
I took a rental bike so it was fun driving around when I could.
Now the bad parts. Bruh!!!!!!!! How The Fuck Is That Noise And DJ screeching music normalised here. It was so unbearable. It was some annabau jayanthi. I was literally walking the street with two fingers showed Inside my ears. Walking is an understatement. I was running back to my room.
This instantly made me never want to come to this place again but then I asked the locals and they said it's some important guys birth anniversary. There was so much traffic I couldn't even explore the city like I wanted to nor meet any new people outside of work. 1st aug is a terrible day to visit Pune so never again.
Fashion Street is overrated. Sorry. Hyderabad is way way better.
There were some namoonas as well but they are everywhere. an auto driver was literally recommending me to an area where prostitution is rampant. The conversation went from "where are you from, why did you visit and then this" "Ladki log ka danda bahut chalta Hain idhar" he said the area name mandai or some place that starts with a b, not sure. I'm like wtf !!! Quickly put my headphones back on. No more conversation after that.
A dumbass lady made me miss a metro stop. Everybody was getting down and the lady in her 30s gets up and starts walking to the doors and I was behind her, everybody is getting down and she just suddenly stops and stands in front of the doors. I was like excuse me and instead of moving to the side she looks back at me, and I as I tried to maneuver around her, the doors started closing. Apparently she was going to get down at the next stop. I asked her in english why would you just stand in front of the doors like that and not let others get down. No answer.
Anyway on a positive note, I can't wait to come back and meet some new people and try some local food.
I didn't get the chance to explore the city as much as I wanted to but maybe next time.
