Any prog metal like Australian band Voyager recommendations?
So... I listen to a lot of music, from various genres (though mostly in English) as I am from Poland so I am influenced mostly by the Western music. I am a rock girlie at heart, I like heavy drums and guitars but I've never got into metal, most of the popular examples just didn't hit for me. From Eurovision I came to know the Australian prog metal (?) band Voyager and I love their three last albums - it's like the right combo of noticeable and great drumming, grit from guitars with 80s synths and smooth voice of the main vocalist reminiscent of the 80s new romantic.
I need more bands who sounds similar. Who play heavy music but it also is melodically complex (to some degree, I don't need symphonies), it brings some nostalgia and just flows right. While a different genre, I also love the older work of Muse so if you know their music, you probably know what I try to describe (English is not my native language, sorry). Basically music that is more than the same four chords used over and over again, has rock / metal instrumentation but isn't just screaming or growling (nothing against it in moderation).
Other of my favourite rock (and plenty of its variations) artists are The Cure, Placebo, Kasabian, I listened to bands like 30 Seconds to Mars, My Chemical Romance, Panic! At The Disco, Paramore, The Last Shadow Puppets, Arctic Monkeys back then I was a teen in late 00s/early 10s.
