I lived both as an ugly and good looking person and pretty privilege is real
BACKGROUND: When I was a teenager, my facial bones were not in the right proportions as they were still in the growing phase. This, combined with being extremely skinny made all the imperfections and asymmetries very clear. But as I grew up, my facial proportions became normal and I gained a little fat, just enough to mask asymmetries while still maintaining bmi. This made made me far better looking. I have lived both as an ugly and good looking person
In my ugly days, any attempt to approach anyone was met with passive aggression. People were visibly cold, rude, and those of opposite sex avoided talking to me. No amount of "just be confident, just be yourself" would work when people have already dismissed you.
Fast forward 6-7 years later, now I dont get such treatment. If anything, they are warmer. I tend to avoid the opposite sex in my workplace due to historical trauma of them being rude to me, but now they themselves try to talk to me. I am the exact same person, with similar "personality".
I noticed being ugly also subjects you to different standards. One of my crushes was a religious muslim who avoided me for being irreligious as I was spiritually inappropriate. Now that very person shows signs of attraction, despite me being even more irreligious now.
But atleast I am happy that I dont discriminate. I have experienced what being ugly is like, and I dont wanna subject others to this.
