Tips for a beginner: how necessary are duplicates?

After looking into the game i decided to go tentacle gang for main and chaos as support, expending most of my pulls on the free banner there...

Now i got all the free aqueur characters and a few dupes... And i am now starting to ask myself: do i need all dupes for later chapters? Or i can do with one or two dupes and start making a new team?
