Dads, did your fitness goals change/appear/disappear when you became a father?

Advice Request

Soon to be dad, in December, to a baby girl. Honestly i am even more anxious and scared because she is a girl, and well i know first hand how men think and talk to women, not only the safety aspect of it.

I saw one if those brain dead funny IG reels where a man who was in great condition was looking at the mirror and saying to his wife “i am not even close to what i should be as a girl dad! i have to get ripped to protect her!”

And honestly, i kinda sympathized with it. Not that i ever plan to beat up other dads, but i do see this as an opportunity to better myself. I am not super unfit but i will for sure benefit from losing extra pounds and getting healthier. I always had my ups and downs when i trained but after covid years i never truly recovered physically, the belly is the belly. Not to mention this would be a great example for my child to look up to.

So, my question is general, did becoming a father change your fitness goals? How easy or hard is it to do it?
