What if the Philippines had a Sengoku Jidai or a Unification War?

Since the pre-colonial Philippines was made up of "City-states" led by a Datu or Rajah, what if some leader with the mindset of Oda Nobunaga or Qin Shi Huang, decided to conquer and unify what would become the Philippine Islands into a single political entity? How would the Philippines of today would work? Would we be facing the issues on corruption or suffer from Makapili Filipinos? Would we be more nationalistic and take pride of our history?
