Creality-3 V3 SE - Firmware

Good morning. Last weekend my printer just quit printing. I power cycled it but nothing changed. I checked the firmware version and found that the version I was using was outdated so I downloaded the current firmware version and tried to flash the new version onto the machine. Bad idea. It wouldn't update through the motherboard slot so I used the display slot and my display turned to a mix of Chinese, English and German and it regularly freezes up. Looks like I'll have to resort to Customer Service but wanted to see if anyone else had this issue and what was done to resolve it? Thanks!
