Help! How much poop is actually normal?

Pee and Poop

Baby boy is 3.5 weeks. Formula fed. He has always pooped a ton since birth. He gets changed every 2 hours when he feeds and there is always some amount of poop in his diaper. He often goes in between feedings too and we change him then too (if we hear it to know he’s gone)

He has had a diaper rash in his crack since 1 week. The doctor looked at it and said it’s not fungal or anything, it’s just from him pooping so frequently.

Four days ago we changed his formula to a comfort formula (Dr recommended) to see if it helps him poop less. It made his poo turn a dark green and I do think the consistency is better, but he still poops SO much.

I am currently sitting with him at the changing table where I have been for the past FORTY minutes gently wiping up a constantly stream of dark green poop. It slides out about every five minutes. Some is just a little some is a lot.

Is this actually normal???

We called the doctor yesterday and they kind of blew us off but did schedule us for a visit… five days from now… they said the color is fine and I think they think we are being dramatic about the frequency…

He has peed twice in these forty minutes as well so I don’t think there’s any worry of diarrhea or dehydration or anything. And he seems fine other than the constant poop (which also makes it impossible to heal his diaper rash)

Has anyone else’s baby pooped truly constantly like this??? Loosing my mind over here!! Help!!
