So, I think Hong Lu foreshadowed his own death...
I was just reading a thread from earlier today about 'what does the Yurodiviye actually do', and the O.P. mentioned:
Like what they bombed alleyways in T-Corp
And I thought about that for a bit.
Akshually...I don't think that was them. The Yurodiviye who comes running says: "There! The explosion came from that way!" This isn't what you say when you're the one that planted it, because you'd know were it was going to come from. So if it wasn't them, who was it? I think it was Herbert wanting to get a first-hand look at Dante's ability. The explosion came out of nowhere and the Yuros came running to see what it was. Nobody else mentions them blowing people up, just heisting time to share out.
"So... what are the Yurodiviye up to 'round here?"
"All kinds of stuff that petty thieves get up to. Stealing things like time or money."
Herbert instantly claims it was them, though. He also 'absently' points out that the anti-dying device he gave them, whoops, forgot to turn it on. Seems a bit odd that they were issued safety equipment, with no instructions, that they can't activate themselves.
What's funny about this is that prior to leaving the office, Hong Lu says, "What kind of people, Rodya, do you think hate rich people? Who do you think would hate people like me? Well... except for my family. If I do ever get murdered under mysterious circumstances, I'm willing to bet that it's one of my family members who did me in. Or Heathcliff, fuhu." Joke's on you Hong Lu, sometimes murder is committed for reasons other than hate.
