My Etsy shop was on vacation mode for 6 months. I need an advice.
Hi everyone! Thank you for reading this. My Etsy shop was on vacation mode for six months due to maternity leave. I reopened on May this year and I’ve been struggling to get sales ever since. I used to make 15-20 order per month (which was enough for me) and now I get around 3-5 sales per month and these are mostly from repeat customers (I am really grateful for that). I know six months are a very long duration and it will take some time to get back to normal. Currently I get 10-15 or less visits per day. I noticed a lot has changed, people are selling custom portraits for $5- $20, but I just can’t price my items that low. I don’t use AI and my artworks are digitally drawn by hand. I put a lot of effort into every illustration I make.
Here is my shop: www.etsy.com/shop/VsArtIllustrations
Questions I would like to ask:
1. Do my titles and tags need improvement?
2. Do you think there is anything else I should improve in my shop to get back to normal?
Here’s what I’ve done so far: I started running Etsy ads a few days ago. I added new listings and renewed some old ones. I edited some of my listings (tags, keywords, descriptions). I run a sale. I post on Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook. While I was on maternity leave I stopped posting on my social media accounts, too and now the algorithm doesn’t work for me so well. It’s very frustrating, but I don’t want to give up!
A little background about my shop:
- I started drawing digital portraits as a hobby and I loved it so much. I watched tutorials, I started learning new digital techniques, new skills and I worked so hard to achieve what I wanted. And here I am - I started VsArtIllustrations on Etsy and I am making my dream come true step by step every day.
- I’ve learned that It’s better to use multiple phrases for tags rather than single words. The categories and attributes act like tags, too. It’s good to use less popular phrases sometimes to describe your product.
Thank you in advance for your help!
