Anyway to restore IPod Touch 3rd Gen??

Made an account just for this, but I have an IPod Touch 3rd Gen that my parents had since 2013-2014 ish and I’m trying to restore it due to all the phone bans. I restored it previously in 2022, but I haven’t used it since then. The IPod won’t turn on, it charges, but it just tells me to connect it with ITunes. When I tried that, it couldn’t connect to it for some reason, so I decided to download an older version of ITunes. The older version of ITunes connects to the IPod, but it won’t restore it because “the IPod software update server could not be contacted.” It’s in recovery mode, and I don’t know how to take it out. I would appreciate any advice or help on this, please and thank you.
