Idk what i am doing

W: “Ugh, you’re so annoying, Z.”

Z.S.: “You’re literally in my head. What am I supposed to do—evict you?”

(Hi. I’m Zukisiro Sasakaru. Just a regular 20-something guy—well... boy? Man? Whatever, labels are annoying. We’ll go with boy for now.)

So, there I was, minding my own business, talking to myself (don’t judge—everyone does it), playing my favorite game. Then, out of nowhere, this voice started talking in my head. It sounded like me... but a female version.

(And just to be clear—I’m straight. Not that it matters right now.)

At first, I thought it was the game. But then—

W: “Are you even LISTENING?!” (She screams directly inside my brain.)

Z.S.: “AHHH—What the—?!”

I literally fell off my chair. That’s when I realized— It wasn’t the game. It was in my head.

W: “Okay, explain this to me. Why the hell am I a female!?”

Z.S.: “I—I don’t know! Who are you? What are you even doing in my head?!”

(Everything felt heavy, like my skull was full of fog. I almost collapsed again.)

W: “I told you. I’m you.”

Z.S.: “HUH?! No. No way.”

W: “Oh, really? You ever notice how when you talk to yourself... sometimes it talks back? That was me.”

Z.S.: “So what, you’ve just been in there this whole time?!”

W: “Yes! And now I have a voice. A female one. Fix it!”

Z.S.: “How the hell am I supposed to fix that?!”

W: “You dumb***, it’s your mind! You can do whatever you want in here!” (She sounds confident. Well... mostly.)

Z.S.: “Alright... here goes nothing.”

He closes his eyes dramatically.

Z.S.: “Heeeeeeeee... HUUUUHHHHHH... So? Hello?”

(...Silence.)

Z.S.: “I guess it’s gone. Finally. Now back to my gaming— Oh no. Wait. What if I messed something up?”

(😮‍💨)

Time passed.

I was having a great time. Finally, some peace.

Then...

SUDDENLY—

Z.S.: “WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!”

(I shout, eyes wide open, sitting straight up in bed. Still alone. Room dark. Laptop blinking in sleep mode. Clock says 3:27 AM.)

W: “I told you already! You were supposed to ‘turn me back!’ But instead, you ignored me and now—we’re linked.”

Z.S.: “Linked? Like Bluetooth? What the hell does that even mean?!”

W: “No, idiot. Spiritually. Mentally. Existentially. Whatever. The point is: I’m not just a voice anymore.”

Z.S.: “And that’s my fault how?! You showed up out of nowhere—uninvited, I might add—and now there’s a gem in my forehead?! That’s not normal!”

(I walk to the mirror again. Nothing. Skin smooth. Like it never happened. But I can still feel it—somewhere under the surface.)

Z.S.: “Is this, like... possession? Are you an alien? A failed voice mod plugin?!”

W: “No. I’m... me. But also you. And we’re out of balance.”

Z.S.: “…This is why I don’t talk to people. Or myself. Apparently, that’s dangerous too.”

(Suddenly, I feel this buzz—like static in my skull. My thoughts get foggy.)

Z.S.: “Ugh... headache again... What now?!”

W: “Something’s coming.”

Z.S.: “WHAT?! Something?! What kind of vague horror movie warning is that?!”

W: “I don’t know. But ever since that gemstone appeared... I’ve been aware of more than just you. There are others.”

Z.S.: “Others? Like… other voices?”

(Silence.)

Z.S.: “You’re creeping me out now. Say something.”

W: “I think they’ve noticed us.”

(My bedroom light flickers. Once. Twice.)

(I freeze. That... that didn’t feel like bad wiring.)

Z.S.: “Okay, great. Haunted. My life is now a mix of anime, ghost stories, and internal monologues I can’t shut up.”

(And then—BANG!)

(Something hits my window. Hard.)

Z.S.: “NOPE! Nope nope nope. I’m grabbing my hoodie, my snacks, and I’m LEAVING.”

W: “You can’t run from this.”

Z.S.: “Watch me!”

(I throw on a hoodie, grab my phone, and head for the door—when suddenly…)

(I see it.)

Across the hallway mirror... A faint glow. Not from the room. From me.

The gemstone. Back again. Shining through the skin like a light beneath glass.

And in the reflection… Another pair of eyes.

Not mine.
