Should I get a lawyer?

I got hit by a car (auto vs pedestrian). I was crossing the street and the driver turned their car literally into me. I was at a crosswalk. I was taken to the ER and did xrays and CT scans but no fractures thankfully. I'm just in a lot of pain with a few abrasions. The driver also admitted fault at the scene. I've heard that lawyers might not be worth it because of high percentage/fees but does my case warrant a lawyer? I've been told I could do it myself but I don't even know how this would go. P.s- not sure if it's important but I only moved to the US 3 years ago for college
