UPDATE: Dexcom G7 Failed 5/5

Glucose Monitors

This is an update to my earlier post. I can't edit that one w/pic included.

[ORIG] On July 25th went to change sensor & had 2 in a row fail to insert w/filament sticking out. Finally got a 3rd inserted ok. Readings got wiggy yesterday & today w/24 hrs to go so decided to change a day early. Three sensors in a row failed to insert w/same wire problem. Two more failed as I tried while dealing with Tech Support.

UPDATE: I contacted Dexcom Live Chat but was asked why I ripped each sensor off instead of trying to use them. I was also asked why I didn't call Tech Support immediately after the 1st problem July 25th. I requested a Supervisor call me and just got off the phone.

  • This is a direct quote: "It is not user error. I am sure it is not. It is a manufacturing problem. It is happening often."
  • They also stated "The sensor will fail with the wire like that. It does not matter to activate the sensor. It will fail."
  • All sensors are being replaced.

Despite this experience I really like the G7 - I love the size and the faster warm up. I've not had issues with inaccurate or inconsistent readings and my AIC's show that.
