The recruiter lied to me so I would accept this shitty job.
I (25F) was so excited when I accepted my current job: a $70k salary plus a 5% bonus, what seemed like great responsibilities, and a flexible hybrid work model.
Or at least that's what the recruiter told me!
As soon as I started, I found myself signing a contract that says:
I'm only allowed to WFH 3 days a month.
They determine these days and they cannot be changed; meaning if your day is every other Wednesday, you can't possibly work from home on any other day.
They track your location and you must be within the country.
Your workspace cannot be in your bedroom (guys, I literally live in a one-room apartment).
HR takes attendance every morning on a clipboard.
You're not allowed to take PTO during the first week of any month or during August and September because it's the "busy season." Of course, I can't wait to miss all my friends' weddings :).
Long story short, I'm completely fed up. I messaged my recruiter, and she told me that she "hopes it will get more flexible later on." Yeah, right. I totally believe her.
