Can i copy paste my singleplayer world to dedicated for multi with friends and keep my stuff?

Has anyone done this? I don’t want to unnecessarily go dedicated when it will be awhile before my friends join and run my pc harder this whole time. I do intend to use lots of mods. Not sure if the function is different in singleplayer. ASA.
