Using acrylics + white spirit for recess shading?

I just got some white AmmoMig oil liner and have been playing around with the oil paint and white spirit combo for that surface tension recess fill.

I was wondering though, would mixing acrylics like citadel and white spirit have a similar effect (or work at all)?

I have a feeling this might be a dumb question as I've only ever seen this done with oil paints and the closest alternative would be flow some kind of flow improver.
