Advice needed

I need advice. I’ve read this sticky but wondering how to apply it to my situation. My ex has some of my belongings, and his apartment is becoming infested with German cockroaches (he is mostly unfazed by this). I need to get all of my belongings out, but I am concerned about taking some hitchhikers with me back to my place. Most of my belongings include clothes. I was thinking of taking my clothes to a laundry drop off service to be throughly cleaned and seal them in bins, but what can I do for my other stuff? My home is in another US State so I was wondering if I needed to put my items in a storage unit and treat it with products. I don’t have that many things at all. I just really don’t want to have problems. To be clear, I do not have any roaches at my home in the other state.
