What do i make for dinner as a young adult on a budget?

Me (23F) and my partner (24M) spend a lot of time at eachothers houses and would rather not spend our money on McDonald’s all the time and enjoy cooking. I usually make a ‘Chinese fakeaway’ or burritos or burgers. I need more options!! Ones that aren’t going to rip a hole in my bank account and maybe with some suggestions on where to shop for things.
