If a billion tokens were released on the 1st, why did circulating supply not increase to over 60 billion?

I know that the release isn’t always 1 billion because they can’t find exchanges to take it all and, from what I understand, if they can’t offload the whole billion, the remainder goes back into escrow….

So…circulating supply hardly increased. Does that mean nobody (exchanges) don’t want it?

Did it go back into escrow?
