Metal Evolution

My wife and I have been watching the documentary Metal Evolution and really enjoying it. My only real question is what is the current climate right now for Metal. Are bands like Sleep Token the next big thing for Metal or just a short lived fad? I’d love to hear from the community what’s new. I’m currently having a Metal renaissance in my life and want to know what’s new.
