Need help working through the hurt of blurry lines of business and friendship

Hi all, I feel like this is kind of a juvenile problem and I feel a little silly and making this post, but I'm having a hard time working through what I'm feeling so I wanted to put it out there.

I've owned a business with my husband for about 10 years. I have a client who became a very close friend and then an employee on a very minimal level. I have the same with a different friend, however we are less close.

About 4 years ago, I had a baby which naturally caused a shift in my abilities to be the enthusiastic face of the business, though I definitely have always been highly prioritizing it on the back end. If I was going through hard times juggling both that and the business, or just a hard time with the business, I would confide in my very close friend believing her to be a confidant. I realized this was probably a mistake on my end, not to have a boundary there.

About a month ago, the two friends mentioned above asked for a meeting with my husband and myself. The first introduction to the meeting was "we know your priorities have shifted, and we're looking for businesses to buy into, and we want to buy into yours"

I've done enough research since then to know that giving ownership away is not the right move for us. However, I'm having a hard time parsing through the icky feelings of hurt I have that these two friends got together, on probably multiple occasions, and determined we were unfit to do the job. And that the conversations I had had with one of them were used against me.

Our business is successful, and it runs efficiently. I'm probably working on it more now than I ever have been, just not front and center if that makes sense.

Anyway, this feels too vague and obscure to bring up to them. I'm hoping somebody can give me a good dose of reality.

Thank you!
