What software feature exactly make pixel phones so good?

People claim that pixel phones are worth their price and inferior hardware because the software is exceptional.

I have a pixel 8. But I hated the search bar and at a glance widget so much I switched to a custom nova launcher.

So if I'm using a custom launcher, what exactly is there that I should stick with Google phones that I cannot have with other brands?
