Currently going through Settlement negotiations with employer via ACAS Early Conciliation after raising a Grievance, now they have put forward a Proposed Redundancy Consultation meeting separate to the negotiations. Should I still attend the 2nd Consultation meeting?

Hi All,

Does anyone here have experience with going through ACAS to negotiate a settlement with employers after being informed by your employer that you may be made redundant?

I am currently going through Settlement negotiations with my employer via ACAS Early Conciliation after raising a Grievance, now they have put forward a Proposed Redundancy meeting/consultation separate to the negotiations.

I proposed a 1st offer last week, they came back with a counter offer, and my counter offer to their counter offer has been sent to them as of today by ACAS.

They have arranged a 2nd consultation meeting to take place prior to my counter offer being sent, where they won't have any questions as it is chance for me to provide feedback and ask my questions following from the proposed redundancy announcement. Should I still attend the 2nd Consultation meeting?

Considering that I am in negotiations and in my counter offer response, I have requested if they would be open to volunteer redundancy situation, would it be best to still have this 2nd consultation meeting or cancel it due to the negotiations and proposal?
