xbox or ps5

I’m getting a new laptop soon as i had to return my old one for being faulty. My budget is around £600 and i’m planning to get the asus tuf 15 (ryzen 5 rtx 3050). It’s a gaming laptop as i regularly stay at my gfs house who lives 3 hours away from me. And we like to play horror games together or i play while she sews. But i also want to get a console and i don’t know if its worth getting a gaming laptop then or spending more on a better console.

I was planning to get the xbox series s but now im unsure as i heard the games on the ps5 are better but the xbox is good for gamepass I might get the x if i don’t get a gaming laptop but still one that’s good enough for uni, watching moxies ect. I’m gonna wait till the consoles go on sale or like a month to see the prices on them but personally i don’t want to pay too much for games which is why i like gamepass and i prefer open world action games like assassins creed. But i also dislike how the series s doesn’t have a disc slot for games as i cant buy second hand.
