No point in being an American online anymore

Trying to sell a [large non-car vehicle, tad identifying even] and bought an ad on the largest relevant website. Two different people chatted me up about it for a couple hours and then both asked me to buy "inspection reports" at random websites and wouldn't talk further until I did.

If I had just looked at Reddit I'd have seen that this particular site basically stopped functioning after 2020 and most of the traffic is now SEAs/Indians trying to get Americlaps to put their debit card into a website after making them think they're close to selling.

Like at what point do we just cut the fucking cables? Do we need a new vast and impressive information machine that isn't totally compromised? It's absurd that internet traffic is all treated equally, that's the lesson of the 20s
