How would your OC's react to the modern day music of Earth?
Icarus has made a speech for this:
“Rap. Pop. Rock. Used to be weapons, movements. Each beat was a heartbeat, each lyric a war cry or a confession. Rap told truth from the gutter. Rock screamed rebellion from the rooftops. Pop? Pop could be joy, pure, radiant joy without needing to fake depth.
Now? It’s corporate necromancy. Dressing corpses up in autotune and recycled hooks, looping the same twelve words over synthetic beats like some kind of hypnotic brand spell.
Rap lost its teeth. Became flexing and mumbling over soulless trap kits. Half of these so-called ‘artists’ couldn’t survive a freestyle without a ghostwriter holding their hand.
Pop? Empty dopamine loops. Manufactured voices selling heartbreak like it’s a trending hairstyle.
And rock... gods, what happened to rock? What used to be raw, distorted defiance is now either stadium-polished nostalgia or forgotten in a sea of synths. The edge is dulled. The danger’s gone. It’s rebellion with a marketing team.
What they used to be? Vital. Now? They’re commodities. Background noise for the end of an era.”
