Is there a meaningful difference between a firm purpose of amendment and a sincere desire to be rid of the sin even if you feel overwhelmed and at a complete loss for how to tackle it?
Trying to find the shades of meaning for firm purpose of amendment. Can I go to confession and validly receive absolution if I desire to root out the sin but simply have not figured out how to go about that practically yet? Or should I try to stay as close to Jesus as possible until I have a “game plan” for tackling it and then go to confession?
