Can I ride a bicycle in Malaysia?

I rented a condo (greenfield residence) a tad bit far from university (sunway) and since I’m not a big fan of public transportation since I usually wake up late, I really want to ride a bike to school. The school itself is only about 3km away which is not that far. I want to know if I can even ride a bike on those roads. How safe it is how practical, and most importantly if there are anyone else doing it. Are there bike lanes, will I get in trouble are the roads even connected in a way where they allow bicycles to be ridden and stuff I’m really curious because if I can ride a bike to school it’s literally over I’m going to have an absolute blast at university.
