Question about Microcenter liability
I dropped off my computer for a Tier 5 rebuild (hard-tube water cooled) and was told that during the leak test my CPU (i9-14900K) failed, as it had outdated BIOS from 2023 before the known voltage issues were patched. Additionally, the pump is faulty too. The thing is, I had experienced no issues with either my CPU or pump before dropping it off at the Microcenter for rebuild and was told by the assigned technician that the CPU failed upon trying to update BIOS. So upon doing some digging into their terms of service to figure out what I could do, I found this:
"Limit of Liability - In no event shall Micro Center be liable for any consequential or incidental damages due to lost data / programs, defects in parts or labor. The total liability of Micro Center shall in no event exceed the total sum paid to Micro Center for this repair. Customer acknowledges that the estimated and actual fees reflect this limitation of liability and allocation of risk."
So, given the fact that both my pump and CPU were working fine with no issues before drop-off, and that the cost of the T5 rebuild exceeds the price for both replacement items, is this covered by their liability waiver?
