Not quite Allodynia.. but numbness/tingling post-migraine?
Been a migraineur for 20+ years, used to mostly be aura without headaches.. have recently graduated to worse head-pain with or without aura, and a whole host of fun new neuro symptoms.
I've read about Allodynia, but what I've been experiencing isn't quite "pain" but almost as if parts of my body have been shot with novocaine. I am not actually numb but I FEEL numb, usually in my feet and legs, finger tips, face sometimes, and lately my scalp (water feels weird when I shower).
When my symptoms changed a few years ago, I thought I was having a stroke and was thoroughly worked up and that was definitively ruled out. MRI, EEG, EMG, etc. I actually take a daily blood thinner for a mild heart condition so I've been assured that my stroke risk is very low. With that said...
It is VERY hard to ignore symptoms like these. They do "travel" or "march" sometimes, similar to aura progression. Anyway, not looking for med advice, just curious if others deal with this. I have a good neuro and she is trying different things - wants me to try Flexeril due to associated neck stiffness.
