How do I know what career is for me? (25 yr old F)
I’ve taken all the personality tests and the career tests but I still know what I want to do. My results are usually the same, quiet type, likes to help people, wants to make a difference, and I’m always given a list of creative jobs, writing, photography, teaching, healthcare but none of these speak to me and honestly the first two are hard to break into. I don’t know what I would want to teach. I know I wouldn’t want to do anything under college. Healthcare is what I currently do and I enjoy it but don’t want to waste my youthful years with my hair always up, no makeup, and a uniform all the time. I also work customer support and tech support and it’s just not for me. I feel so micromanaged. I want to be my own boss or have a job that’s so tedious, no one checks in on me or tells me what to do past training.
Ugh. I hate this. I went into small debt for my healthcare career thinking I could do it full time so I’d only have to do it a little to pay off my debts and save a bit before deciding on something but I can’t work it full time because of family issues. So I also need a career that’s flexible and can be done remotely.
I’d really rather work construction, landscaping, or even fast food than a job where I’m micro managed or told what to do lol. I try making my own businesses and they always fail. Everything looks great, I have a website, it’s all cohesive, I have social media accounts, I post but I suck at marketing and refuse to pay for ads, so they never get traction. My prices are phenomenal too.
Nothing interests me. Right now I wanted to get a cert in paralegal but I think that would be ALOT of being told what to do, being held responsible, and micro managed.
When I was a kid I wanted to be an actress but I’m camera shy so it’ll never happen. I also wanted to be a writer but I have no fresh ideas.
I wish I could get those supervisor roles where they literally do nothing (at least it seems) but check clock ins, interview, and keep communication. That’s literally all mine does lol.
I don’t know, someone help me. I need to figure it out. I’m getting old and feel like I’ll be less hireable/wanted due to that.
My dream has always been to get a bachelors and a masters degree but again… don’t know in what. I hate mat, by the way, so there’s that.
