Early Pregnancy Misscarriage - time off work

Hi, I've going through an early miscarriage atm. I went for an early scan last week and baby was measuring two weeks behind and showing no heartbeat. I went back for a scan this week to see if baby had any growth or a heartbeat and it was confirmed no heartbeat & a decrease in growth so it was ruled a missed miscarriage. Since my scan Saturday I've started to experience bleeding so not sure if it's a missed misscarriage or we just caught it really early if that makes sense but it seems my body is starting to recognise that we are no longer pregnant. I am waiting to hear from my hospital as it's a long weekend hoping it'll be tomorrow but I'm just looking for anyone else's experiences with this. I can't bare the thought of work this week- will the doctor sign me off for a week or two or what is the usual sign off time? Thanks.
