Returning player... current health of the game? (Strive)

How we looking? I haven't played since shortly after Sin's release. I hopped on and saw a whopping thirty people in a lobby, is the game dead? All the updates/patches led me to believe it'd be a bit more lively. What are some updates that I might have missed? I mained Goldlewis back when I was still active.
