Child 4-9 Years

I was just reading a thread on another sub about life changes millennials made in their 30s that really impacted them. One person wrote something like: “I used to go anywhere, even if I didn’t feel like it — I powered through. Now I’m all about cozy nights in, doing nothing.”

That hit me.

Right now, I’m a mom to a 6-year-old, and we’re on a long vacation. Her dad has the stomach flu. And honestly? I’d love to just stay in, put cartoons on the TV, and do nothing. But instead, we’re heading out — just the two of us — to the beach, then to the playground, and finally for some mommy-daughter drinks (juice, of course 😅) and ice cream.

She had a long nap this afternoon after the beach this morning, so I’m trying to get her out of the house so my husband can rest properly.

Does anyone else do this? Power through (almost) every day with some kind of activity, just to give your kids little memories with you — instead of just giving in to the nap and the lazy day you so desperately want? (Of course I DO nap and I have lazy days but maybe for an hour or so)
