Funeral car processions are selfish and should not be allowed to exempt traffic laws

I’ve lost a few important people in my life, mainly my aunt and mom, so I feel like I have a decent understanding of how grief works.

However, despite the pain and suffering that I have felt losing my parent and close family relatives, I would never want to inconvenience other people by having a huge procession of cars accompanying my dead body or the dead body of a loved one from the funeral home to the cemetery.

In my opinion, it’s just selfish and seems like you’re saying “look at me, look how important I was and how many people are sad that I’m gone!”

The sad truth of the matter is despite the fact that your loved ones are devastated, honestly no one else cares. All you’re doing is holding up traffic and potentially causing an accident if people aren’t paying close enough attention to your pity parade.

When I die, I hope that a lot of people go to my funeral, I feel like most people would agree with that sentiment. But I’m not going to subject strangers to wait for a parade of mourners for my own dead ego.
