Natural, induction or planned C-section?

Discussion

Hello All, I am currently 31w3d. I am high risk as I have type 1 diabetes. It is well controlled but diabetic woman can have large babies and my husband was 10lb 15oz. I am going back and forth on what to do. My son’s head is currently 99%tile and belly is 94%. At my ultrasound one week ago he was already 4lb 6oz so likely bigger now. My fear with having him naturally is tearing wide open, or it turning into an emergency C-section. My whole pregnancy they made it seem as C-section was likely so I prepared myself for that but since my diabetes is so well controlled they said they think I can do vaginally via induction at 39weeks(as of now obviously things change in coming weeks). This really through me off and now I’m not sure as I know inductions have high rates of causing emergency csections. A planned C-section sounds much better than emergency and vaginal is still questionable to me. I know recovery is tons harder with C-section but I feel like I may lean towards planned still. The only way I can see natural is if I don’t do induction and let nature take its course. But idk if they’d allow that with my diabetes and his size. Thanks for any input.
