Question about Commuting via Tri-Rail to FLL

Hi, I work in downtown FLL, and am considering taking the downtown Tri-Rail to FLL for my morning commute. Does anybody else make this commute north? If so, is it easy to take the Metrorail Transfer? Is it on time usually? It seems it would be about an hour total to FLL with the transfer. For those that use Tri-Rail to commute north, I'd appreciate any first hand experience making this commute.
