06 Acura TSX

Trying to help a friend, they have a 06 Acura TSX that tries to but won’t start, almost sounds like it’s out of gas. The day before the check emissions light came on and it was running rough and now it won’t start. Not sure if it’s related or not but they had the downpipe repaired due to an exhaust leak 2 months ago. Any ideas what the issue could be?
