Over 61,000 homes and condos listed on MLS across Ontario at the moment...
Is it just me, or does it feel like there's a "For Sale" sign on every other street right now?
I looked it up, and apparently, there are over 61,000 homes and condos listed across Ontario at the moment...
It feels like a massive shift from a couple of years ago when you had to fight 20 other people for one house.
On one hand, all this choice seems great for anyone trying to buy. It feels like the power has shifted away from sellers a little bit. You can probably take your time, see a few places, and not have to make a crazy offer in 5 hours.
But on the other hand, we all know interest rates are brutal. The monthly mortgage payments on an average home right now are eye-watering.
So it feels like a weird trade-off: you can finally find a house you like, but affording it is harder than ever.
Genuinely curious what the vibe is out there. Are you or your friends actively looking? Have you put plans on hold? Or do you think this is actually a decent, more "normal" time to buy if you can make the numbers work?
