My wife hit me always

My wife hit me when she has a problem. It happens maybe 20-30 times in the last year.

This morning again happen and badly happen. I could not bear and called police. They took photos of marks and took her to the police station. A dedective called me asked what would be best, bail conditions or forgive her. I said I need a bit time to think like 1-2 hours.

We have a baby. And I am sure maybe not now but after couple of weeks she will try again. What should answer to dedective ? My heart does not want that but my mind so full.
