Mortgage assistance denial?

We are behind about $3,200 on our mortgage and our request for assistance was denied since we had been approved already last year but just weren't able to catch up.

I have requested an account reinstatement letter be sent and the lender said we have 30 days to bring the account current. To my knowledge, this will stop the foreclosure process. Correct me if I am wrong.

We do not have the funds to bring the account current or we would obviously have been paying on it. What are my options? I do not want to lose my house. It has been such a difficult year and a half for my family since my husband was attacked and assaulted at work, which is what kicked off us not being able to pay our bills.

Can anyone provide some guidance if you have dealt with this before?
