New K6 HE Key Defective – Same Issue as K2 HE?
Just a heads-up for anyone considering the Keychron K6 HE — I bought mine from keychron.uk.
At the time, the same model was not available on Amazon UK (it is now). If you're considering this board, I strongly recommend buying it somewhere that offers reasonable customer service. Unfortunately, I only learned about Keychron’s support history after receiving mine — and I would not recommend buying directly from them based on this experience.
I received my K6 HE last week, and the “M” key is completely unresponsive out of the box. The key test shows it as red (constantly pressed). I’ve tried:
- Swapping the switch with a working one
- Resetting the board
- Using Keychron Launcher to test the matrix
No luck — it seems very similar to what users reported with the K2 HE about 9 months ago.
A few relevant Reddit threads:
- “Defective Key on K2 HE” (39+ confirmations)
- “Keychron K2 HE not working”
- “K2 HE arrived with defective W key”
It’s a real pity — I genuinely like the design and typing feel of this board. But to see the same defect show up again in a new model is really disappointing. I emailed them over a week ago and finally got a reply asking me to test switches and record a video.
I just wanted to share my experience in case it helps others make a more informed decision. If you're buying a Keychron HE board, especially in the UK, I’d strongly recommend getting it from Amazon or a retailer with a clear return policy.
