Why is Progressive incapable of formatting their Liability Insurance Card pdfs to fit properly on a page?

Auto Insurance

This has been happening for at least a year, and I had assumed that Progressive would get around to fixing it, but there seem to be no signs of progress. When attempting to print/download the auto Liability Insurance Card to store it in my insured vehicle, the pdf is consistently generated with fucked up cropping. There are no top or right side margins, and the dashed lines and some of the text proceed to run outside the printable area. It's like they didn't expect it to be printed or something. It's among the very few personal documents that I actually need to have transcribed onto paper. It's outrageous to so horribly fumble the production of half a page of text. I wouldn't be so annoyed if modifying the format of pdfs wasn't such an ordeal, but turns out it's quite a pain in the ass to do a slight repositioning. I ended up using a CLI program called Ghostscript so at least I can save my shell command and six months from now when I need to print again and Progressive's shit is still broken, I can fix it a lot faster.
