Been in depression since October. New meds made it worse

Support Needed :nervous:

Hi everyone,

I’ve been dealing with depressions for 11 years, but only got diagnosed with bipolar 2 two years ago. Since then, my only constants have been lamotrigine 200mg and quetiapine 25mg at night.

My last major depressive episode started last October. After three failed SSRI trials, bupropion finally helped a bit in April. I felt a glimpse of hope. But I never fully stabilized and started slipping again. My psychiatrist noticed it before I did, added fluanxol, reduced lamotrigine to 100mg, and kept bupropion.

It’s been three weeks since these changes and I feel so much worse. Like now I’m crashing hard again. My depressions often escalate around September, and it’s already August. I’m scared of September.

With every year, my episodes last longer and become harder to treat. I’m starting to lose hope.

If anyone’s been through something similar, I’d really appreciate hearing your experience. Did anything help?
