10 months post-op

I’m a mom of twins. I always thought I’d have one more, but after giving birth 10 months ago, I had a severe postpartum hemorrhage. The bleeding was caused by uterine atony, and despite every effort, I needed an emergency total hysterectomy.

Before pregnancy, I had fibroids. But the symptoms had always been manageable. My doctor said they contributed.

I’m so thankful for my twins. they're my world. It’s a strange grief. I absolutely LOVED being pregnant and carrying my boys, feeling them move. Im absolutely devastated that I wont get to live this a second time. I’m still learning how to carry both gratitude and sorrow at the same time.
