On August 2nd at 3:46pm, officers were proactively patrolling in the 900 block of Confederation Street in response to community concerns regarding drug use and anti-social behavior.

At a shelter facility in that area, officers observed a male on the east side of the property. The male was lying down with his head on a black suitcase, holding a guitar and a large purple bong at his side. The bong was observed to have a used glass Crystal methamphetamine pipe attached (with visible residue). The male was placed under arrest for drug possession. A search incident to arrest revealed drug paraphernalia, 11.15g of suspected Fentanyl, and 2.41g of suspected Crystal Methamphetamine.

Richard BELFITT (36 years) of Evergreen Drive in Sarnia was held for bail on the following charges:

• CDSA 4(1) Possession of a schedule I substance - Crystal Methamphetamine

• CDSA 5(2) Possession for the purpose of Trafficking - Fentanyl
