Should I buy doom 2016 and battlefield V

Both doom 2016 and battlefield V are highly discounted for me right now and I was considering going for them since I want a shooter game,but I've never touched either of the franchises before and no idea how good/bad either of them are,or if i have to play the older installments first. I don't have any preference in shooters since the only one I previously played was tf2,just don't want it to be sweaty and more chill I guess.
