Dear Everyone,

I am a designer based in India and looking to build a system that suits my workflow needs and work habits and I am hoping that you guys can help me out with that.

I have shared two collages here. One is of the kind of things I like to model in 3D and the other is the kind of things in 2D that I work on.

**Disclaimer**: *the items shown are not mine, but just products found on the internet that represent the kind of work I do.*

I am sharing this so that you can advise the right kind of system setup and hardware configuration to me to achieve these things.

# Further Information:

I like to work with textures or rendering mode ON from time to time to help with visualization and inspiration while modelling.

I am also in a habit of making duplicates in the same file, esp. in 2D work. For e.g. making several duplicates of the homepage in a single file. I do this in 3D too, like say I have alternate head rest styles of a seat. I tend to create alternates (explorative design) a lot.

I do book designing too - with up to a 100 pages illustrated and graphically composed.

I do coding in VS Code - JS and html for app ideas. Recently been dabbling in some ML (do not know how far I will go).

When researching I have a tendency to have 50 - 60 tabs open in Chrome.

I click RAW photos and and edit them in Lightroom.

**The main apps and software that I use are as follows:**

Affinity Designer, Affinity Photo, Lightroom, VS Code, Libre Office, Krita, Clip Studio (possibility), Concepts, Blender, Rhino 3D, and Obsidian (PKM) with several plugins like Excalidraw, etc.

# Things Important to me:

1. Common folder and singular files: Currently when working in my android tablet, I need to transfer files (e.g. .jpgs) from my laptop via Bluetooth to access them or screenshot a 3D model, send the image via Bluetooth to my tablet and then draw over and send the drawing back to my laptop. Basically I would like that there is one project folder and that I can access any file in it and create any new file inside the folder itself (irrespective of whether I am working on my tablet or laptop) and avoid files related to a project scattering around and avoid redundancies.
2. Use pressure sensitive pen for notes, drawings, painting and modelling.
3. Have multiple apps open - say, Chrome, Affinity Designer and Blender opened together and I can switch between them and continue work on each!
4. Color Accuracy (obviously)
5. Setup usable for at least 5 years for my work.
6. I would definitely desire to work on a quite setup (sans fan noise) that does not run hot.
7. Light weight and wieldy hardware
8. Long battery life
9. Simple professional hardware (laptop, drawing tablet, etc.) design.

# An ideal setup would be:

A system which allows me to smoothly do large mind maps, 3D modelling, 2D design, often simultaneously, with a pressure sensitive and accurate pen, sitting on my table and then when I am tired allows me to continue work casually perched in my bed/ sofa.

I can carry the system to my client to do a collective brainstorming or just jot down the points during the discussion (either in Obsidian, Concepts, or in Excel)

When needed, I can carry the system to the field to take notes.

# Budget:

**Rs. 1L to Rs. 2L.**

You can suggest different setups for different budgets in the above range.

# Additional Points:

I am deliberately using the term "system." A system could be one device or a group of devices connected to a core file system, with each device usable in a situation where that device is most suited OR may be you have some other alternative idea!

To my understanding, so far a system could be a NAS (although I have no idea how to set it up and feel it will be just too cumbersome), a display tablet and micro ATX setup, a laptop and tablet setup, MacBook and iPad, or just a 2 in 1, or something else that I haven't even considered till now!

Because, what is important to me is that the files do not get duplicated even as I am able to work in various locations/ environments.

I generally do not work in cafes or on the go, but I am mobile - in the sense I need to work in different workplaces but not very frequently.

I learnt that a 16 inch drawing display tablet is ideal for artists who are mobile. Also, I am not at all comfortable using a non display drawing tablet (have tried multiple times).

In addition to advice about hardware/ device setup, you could also include workflow workarounds or utilitarian app suggestions that allow me to achieve the above objectives and goals or enhance my workflow.

*I am open to all types guidance and advice - in the end it is crucial for me to get a system that suits my needs, but unfortunately, it seems that I am at my wits' end!*

Thank you !

Please help me build a system for creative work - 2D & 3D, mobility and file non redundancy!
