Is it normal to ask the Salary?

I matched with a girl on a dating app. She initiated the conversation and asked for my number, so we moved the chat to WhatsApp. We even had a quick video call to confirm we were both real. Most of our conversations revolved around work and daily life. She began calling me "handsome" and "cutie" though I never felt the need to use similar terms for her.

After about a week of chatting, I asked if she’d like to meet up? She said she’d prefer to get to know me better over chat first. The next day, she sent a morning message asking where I was. I told her I was at the office. Then she asked what I do for work (even though I’d already mentioned it on the first day)? I answered, she followed up with, "Just curious, how much do you earn with your job there?"

I gave a vague response: "Enough to live comfortably and plan for the future."

Wondering if girls usually ask about income before even meeting, or is it just my suspicious mind overthinking?
